SINGLE REVIEW | MAJESTY PALM | SICK OF SAYING YOUR NAME

A throbbing bass and soft synth joined later by a hypnotic pulsing beat is a recipe for intrigue in a song intro. Glasgow pair Majesty Palm’s newest single Sick of Saying Your Name pulls you into its world immediately, eagerly wondering where the track will go next. Where that is, is a huge chorus which doesn’t sound out of place amongst the synth dance-pop catalogues of Robyn, Dua Lipa and Charli XCX.

Syncopated cross rhythms of the bridge pulls you off kilter as if reaching towards the climactic moments of an electric night out in the city. The song’s thematic choices of a failed relationship that you’re struggling to move past shows its escalating torment through the propelling beats of the track. Overall, an absolute stunner, perfect for late night summer drives and epic nights out.

Sick of Saying Your Name was recently released Friday 3rd July and can be heard below.

Those interested in seeing this and other Majesty Palm tracks live can catch them at the AGP Christmas Party at Tunnels, Aberdeen on Saturday 5th December.
