SINGLE REVIEW | FOG BANDITS | DARLIN’

Rising Glasgow based 3-piece Fog Bandits have released their sophomore single Darlin’ off the back of a year that has seen them go from strength to strength in Glasgow’s scene. Playing venues such as King Tut’s, making a name as a strong live band with a formidable and unmistakable sound.

Following on from last years riff laden ‘Not Like this…’ this new single displays the band’s versatility with it’s dramatic and powerful hook pulling the listener in and ensuring the track becomes a repeat listen. Punctuated by the dynamic contrast against the verses, which are defined by a driving punky riff by guitarist Lucas setting the track’s energy from the beginning, anchored by it’s solid rhythm section with drummer Adam (Glasgow’s busiest musician, by any measurement, seriously this guy is in a LOT of bands!) and frontman/bassist Jamie, who’s confident vocals call to mind Alex Turner at times, really get a chance shine on Darlin’s anthemic chorus. The end result is solid offering from this rising band that is sure to make a dent in the scene.

Darlin’ is out now.
