GIG PREVIEW | CALUM CAMPBELL | MONTROSE TOWN HALL | 03.05.24

Local folk/indie legend Calum Campbell brings a fantastic night to Montrose town hall with his SOLD OUT Album launch show.

For anyone going out in Angus, Calum is always a huge hit with his energetic and fun sets. Over the years Calum has been seen performing both solo and with a talented band, both are always received well. There’s no denying Calum has made his mark gigging covers however, if you’ve ever seen him live you’ll hear countless requests for his original material such as; skally and fallin’ through out his sets, often getting the best response from the crowd.

Calum Campbell brings a sold out album launch show to Montrose town hall on the 3rd of May for his much anticipated third studio album. The album was recorded at Tpots Studio with Robyn Wynn Evans who has worked with The View and Manic Street Preachers during his career. A very well sought after engineer to work with and I’m sure him and Calum will have cooked up a storm.

On the night he has a wealth of talent sharing the stage with him to celebrate the release in style.

Callum Macphail
Callum is a talented accordianist and singer who takes pride in his Scottish heritage which is echoed in his music. Calum won the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Award for his single 7 years old.

Mad Ferret
A contemperory folk duo from Perth. They beauifully blend traditional folk with the more contemporary folk heard and enjoyed today. Mad Ferret Band are known for their energetic sets and mad mandolin solos. I have no doubt that they will bring high energy and enthusaism in support Calum on the night.

The Craic Inn
Duo Craic Inn will bring the luck of the Irish (music) to Montrose. They will be sure to get you moving with their skillfull fiddle heavy tunes.

Calum and his talented band have worked extremely hard in pulling this album together and I’m really excited for him to be able to get this out for all to hear. Selling out Montrose Town Hall is no mean feat and I think it is a testimant the Calum and the support he’s built over the years. I know we are all in for an impressive night of live music.
