SINGLE REVIEW | TRANSMISSION SUITE | SAME GLUE

If you are a fan of New Order and The Stone Roses, then allow me to introduce you to Transmission Suite, who are releasing new music this week.

Their new single, ‘Same Glue,’ is a fusion of the shimmering, electronic sound of 80s synthwave with the fun, upbeat swagger of 90s baggy. For the Stirling four-piece, it was a no-brainer to make this their release, given how enthusiastically it was received at the Edinburgh Fringe when the band supported Men Without Hats.

In the wake of the current Nostalgia Revival that is occurring within the music scene, the band could not have picked a more perfect time to release this tune. When you listen to the song for the very first time, you wonder whether it was released in 2026 or 1986. However, one cannot help but be pulled back to the present with the chorus’s recurring lyric, ‘we get lost in solitude,’ reminding us of the isolating times we are currently living in.

‘Same Glue’ is out on 10th July.
