PREVIEW | TRNSMT 2026

TRNSMT Festival is going to be back with a bang from the 19th to the 21st of June, making Glasgow Green objectively the best place in the world to be between those dates. People from and outwith Glasgow collectively agree to spend one glorious weekend together gallivanting around the same grounds as some of the biggest names around, fuelled by loaded fries and somewhat flat pints.

This year’s line-up was met with mixed reactions from potential attendees, with some calling it “weak”. However, TRNSMT famously champions fresh, local talent alongside household names, contributing hugely to uplifting underrepresented artists and also to the general public finding their new favourite musicians.

This year also sees some of the most exciting emerging Scottish acts around on BBC Introducing’s stage, including Alice Faye and Mercy Girl on Friday, Radio Free Alice on Saturday and Abbie Gordon on Sunday, along with many, many more of Scotland’s finest.

The festival kicks off with the iconic (to say the least) Richard Ashcroft headlining, with Wolf Alice, Dylan John Thomas and Nile Rodgers and the Chic right before. Irish indie stars Newdad and Cliffords will be making the trip, and Luvcat will be playing a few for the romantics.

On Saturday, there’s Kasabian headlining (we already know they’re on fire) after a day of mixed genres and vibes from the line-up. The Last Dinner Party, The Snuts and The Fratellis will all be making appearances (and lasting impressions), while Big Special bring their lyrical genius to the stage. DJ Sonny Fedora sets the mood beforehand, and Loyle Carner’s mellow hip-hop carries the day forward along with Clementine Douglas, Rose Gray, and English Teacher.

Sunday sees Little Mix’s Perrie, CMAT and Skye Newman with their unforgettable stage presence and South Arcade and Westside Cowboy bringing the more alt-rock and punk energy. This day in particular is heavy on the Scottish stars, with Katie Gregson Macleod high on the bill, preceding the one and only Amy Macdonald, who I’m personally the most excited to see, and finally Lewis Capaldi bringing what I’m assuming will be the best three days of my life so far to a close.

I hope it doesn’t rain, but I think I speak for all of us when I say I think this is a line-up worth getting drenched for.
