Glasgow is fortunate enough to be filled with iconic music venues, each hosting a range of artists every night, but there’s one particular venue that everyone knows across the UK. King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut could easily be one of the best venues in the country, known for every big name in music having played a gig there when they were starting out. Rich in history and full of new talent and emerging artists. One thing Tut’s are incredible at is providing a platform for these new artists, especially Scottish musicians, giving them opportunities to grow an audience and be discovered.
And this Summer it gets even better with King Tut’s announcing the line up for their Summer Night’s gigs. It’s an incredible eight weeks of new music, with over 100 emerging artists set to perform. It’s exciting to see the massive line up, full of different genres and talent but always amazing to see King Tut’s commitment to supporting and uplifting smaller artists in a time where it does feel ten times harder for small artists to grow in the industry.

The festival begins on July 9th with Marigold, who’ll kick off the next 30 days of new music. It finishes with Sean Choon and The Prawn Monsoon on the 29th of August. There’s so many talented artists on the lineup, and it gives audiences a chance to come along and discover their next favourite band as the diverse lineup means everybody will be able to find an artist they’ll enjoy listening to.
Some artists that I’m particularly excited about seeing on the lineup would be Joe Goodall, who has just released a new single on the same night that Tut’s announced his headline gig. For fans of The 1975, Joe’s music is filled with punchy instrumentals that manage to stay in your head all day after listening. Another band I’d recommend to look out for is Flair, a band from Glasgow, who I became a fan of after hearing one of their newer singles ‘Nausea’. The band are gaining traction with their compelling music and definitely will be one to watch as they take to the Tut’s stage.
Something really exciting that audiences can get involved with is the golden ticket, which fans can purchase and this grants entry to all 30 shows. It’s an amazing opportunity to experience over 100 new artists and witness the new talent in the music industry, giving these artists a place to grow. The tickets went on sale on Friday 15th May, but more information about where to purchase golden tickets, as well as individual gig tickets can all be found on the King Tut’s website.
Watching a venue give these artists a chance and opportunity is exciting to see, King Tut’s do it every year, and the lineup is always incredible. It’s definitely something you won’t want to miss. Glasgow’s music scene is rich, so why not go along for a few nights and discover the emerging talent that you might not already know about? It’s going to be an electric 30 nights that you won’t want to miss in one of Glasgow’s most iconic venues.
