King Tut’s in Glasgow hosted another epic night for their annual New Years Revolution event on Wednesday 22nd January. The rising alt-rock 4-piece band AndSofia headlined the sold-out venue to a busy and eager crowd. The lineup included stunning supporting acts from Limerence, Quality Control, and Mantel.
Limerence
Up-and-coming Glasgow band Limerence started off the night at 7.45 pm with a captivating alternative rock set. With unreal vocals and strong guitar instrumentals, it was clear that the rising 4-piece could work effortlessly well together and put on a fantastic upbeat show for the Glasgow crowd.

The set also included a slower track in the form of a love letter, with intricate lyrics and chill ambience. The penultimate track dived deep into themes of self-discovery and sexuality, detailing the journey toward feeling comfortable liking women. The lead vocalist dedicated this song to bisexual women and advocated for self-acceptance and normalising LGBT+ sexualities.
Formed in February 2024, Limerence have already had a number of gigs including a supporting slot for The Claes in March, and a gig at Nice N’ Sleazy supporting Papercut Peach in June, before hosting their very own first headline show at the Poetry Club in November.
Quality Control
New rising Glasgow-based four-piece Quality Control hit the stage at 8.30 pm with a diverse range of heavier rock and alternative tracks. The setlist included immersive lyrics and impressive vocal abilities, along with strong, electrifying guitars that made the set aesthetically pleasing to watch. The set finished with “Everything Must Go” with a heavier, stronger sound finishing the set on a high.

Quality Control held their debut live gig at Nice N’ Sleazy as part of the Crowded Flat Pub Weekender in September 2024, before playing at The Bungalow, Paisley, with Blackbird Music in November. With only a couple gigs up their sleeve, Quality Control didn’t fail to put on a brilliant set to the sold-out King Tut’s crowd, despite only having done a few shows prior.
Mantel
Mantel kicked off their set with an upbeat set of indie alternative tracks at 9.15 pm, to a very supportive crowd with several at the front eagerly clutching the barrier.

The setlist included their debut single ‘Driftwood,’ just recently released on 13 January. ‘Driftwood’ is a slightly softer indie track exploring the state of self-growth and coming to terms with the version of someone you used to know that may not still align with the same version of yourself. The slow yet haunting vocals build up throughout the song, with a gripping instrumental in the bridge, with electrifying guitars and punchy drums.

The 5-piece made their live debut at McChuills in May 2024, before performing at Mono with Slay Sessions in August. Stream ‘Driftwood’ below:
AndSofia
Stunning headliner AndSofia kicked off their set at 10 pm with a range of original alt-indie tracks as well as a selection of catchy covers.

The 4-piece based just outside of Glasgow formed in 2023, with band members consisting of three cousins Charlie Fraser on guitar, Christy Fraser on bass, Skye McCafferty on lead vocals, in addition to Millie O’Donnell on drums.

The setlist included their debut single ‘Change’, released on Spotify on 19 September 2024 and produced by Stone Dead Studios. The track begins with calm, delicate strings of acoustic guitar, before proceeding into lyrics with intricate storytelling and echoing vocals. The lyrics detail emotions of melancholy and helplessness: “My head is heavy, and my heart is sore” in trying to accept the change of someone close to you. The chorus moves to angrier emotions with faster drums and guitar, with the lyrics “I feel you’ve changed / I see you walking away” perfectly illustrating the internal struggles faced with welcoming change and new chapters of life.
AndSofia’s engaging presence on stage and fusion of indie and alternative genres made their headline set one not to be missed. You could feel the band’s passion through their performance with their mix of heavier alt-rock tunes, punchy drums, and catchy guitars. The band also expressed their appreciation for Catfish & The Bottlemen and The Charlatans, before the set came to a close with a cover by Fontaines D.C.

Since the band’s formation, AndSofia have played in multiple venues across Glasgow and Paisley including Broadcast, The Bungalow, as well as headlining Room 2 in September 2024. AndSofia have also supported Our Girl and Hannah Nicole.
Make sure to keep an eye out for future gigs and new music by AndSofia in 2025.
