Gig Preview | The Blackout | 20/2/24 | SWG3

Celebrating 20 years since Welsh rockers formed ‘The Blackout‘, SWG3 will host this monumental and special reunion as they return to Glasgow! This will be the first tour they have done in 9 years, so it goes without saying this has been a gig we have all waited patiently for!

The post-hardcore 6 piece band formed back in 2003 having had an amazing adventure supporting incredible bands from ‘Kids In Glass Houses’ and ‘Funeral For A Friend’, and with sad news like ‘You Me At Six’ announcing their calling it a day, fans are grateful and excited at this tour going ahead! (and may we add in, hopefully more to come)!!

Back in the early days, Kerrang! nominated ‘The Blackout’ for Best British Newcomer, and we’ve seen and heard the fantastic music these guys have given us. Back in 2007 we had the release of their debut album ‘We Are The Dynamite‘ featuring the hit single ‘The Beijing Cocktail‘ to then a year later they worked and released their second album ‘The Best In Town‘ which features favourites such as ‘Children of the Night’ and ‘Save Our Selves (The Warning)’. We’ve also had another two amazing albums: ‘Hope‘ and ‘Start The Party‘.

The Blackout will be playing at this year’s Slam Dunk Festival, but you have the chance to catch them NOW as they kick off their tour this month. And you’d be a fool to miss out on getting those tickets, because what if we need to wait another 9 years for a U.K tour again. Let’s not risk it! With the Cardiff date fully sold out, you better grab your tickets for Glasgow NOW!

They will also be joined by Scottish bands who are supporting from pop alternative rock band ‘Newshapes‘ and Nu-Rock band ‘Dead Pony‘.

Make sure you get your diaries clear for Tuesday 20th February and come join Discovery Music Scotland for a night that will be so special, whether it’s old fans reminiscing or if it’s reuniting current fans with new fans – this gig is one that you won’t regret joining!
