SINGLE REVIEW | MAPPED BY A FOREST | BRIDGES

There’s an exciting new name for the underground indie scene in Edinburgh as Mapped By A Forest released their debut single BRIDGES on June 25th.

The track, entitled BRIDGES, is five minutes of pure zen. The main body of the song is based around two guitar riffs. The first compliments the vocals beautifully whilst the second is a really lovely repeated lead guitar lick that plays in between the verses.

The doubled up vocals reflect upon past experiences. The repeated lyric of “even stars don’t shine all of the time” is very well used and sums the lyrics up nicely. There’s also a wonderful piece of vocalising around the two and half minute mark.

A solid debut effort by the Edinburgh duo, well written lyrics and some excellent guitar work, they are definitely a band to keep an eye on. BRIDGES is available to stream from June 25th and you can find the band’s social pages below.
