‘ENEMY’ Official Single Cover
Having already played iconic venues including King Tut’s and the 02 Academy, Scottish singer/songwriter Amy Louise triumphantly returns to music with her newest single ‘Enemy’. Effortlessly combining the pop and dance genres, it’s no wonder just why the singer has been receiving high praise including from the likes of BBC Scotland and Glasgow Times.
Louise has always had a knack for making tracks which explore just how vulnerable it is to be human which is one of the many things that I’ve come to adore her for and Enemy is no different. In the words of the singer, the track was “written about the acceptance of someone going from being your everything to portraying you as their enemy.” A message that people can relate to, it’s made abundantly clear throughout the almost four minute run-time with its outstanding lyrics including “I’ll learn to love again / But if you were to call, I’d erase all your faults and be your everything / I’ll be your enemy for life.” All the while, delivered excellently by stunning vocals that draw you right into the heart of the song.
Another thing which pulled me right from the get-go is Louise’s trademark dreamy synths which the track is built upon. From the very opening to the final note, they provide ‘Enemy’ with a certain danceability charm that keeps you returning for more.
With fans being able to expect new music and live shows in the near future, Amy Louise certainly cements herself as an act to watch in the future.
