SINGLE REVIEW | DECLAN WELSH AND THE DECADENT WEST | TALKING TO MYSELF

Another brilliant release from the East Kilbride fourpiece.

Declan Welsh and The Decadent West made a glorious return last week with another new single. “Talking To Myself” marks the band’s third release this year, following recent singles “Another One” and “Parisian Friends” all taken from the band’s upcoming “It’s Been A Year” EP which is set for release later on next month.

Sonically the new track features driving guitars, fast-paced drums and, as ever, Declan’s emphatic vocal delivery. The track also features a huge chorus, some impressive long notes and honest and insightful lyrics. Anthemic and relatable, it could be one of their most infectious cuts yet.

The band commented on Twitter: “It’s a tune about the idea of the internal conversations you have, different parts of you saying do this or that. It’s been a year or two spent in our own heads so this just sort of came out. It’s a song about that weirdly comforting truth that everyone is insecure, sad or anxious in some way. None of us are alone in that respect, but we’re all suffering together, apart.”

We’re really looking forward to seeing what the EP has in store but in the meantime you can click here to listen to “Talking To Myself” and watch the video below!
