Single Review | The Zebecks | Breakthrough

Scottish indie rockers The Zebecks are ready to usher in a new era with their first fully produced single ‘Breakthrough’.

Originally from Elgin, The Zebecks now find themselves as one of the most exciting new acts in the Glasgow music scene. A headline slot at King Tut’s is on every young Scottish band’s bucket list, the lads ticked this one off at the tail end of last year and now they’re hungry for more. This single, fittingly titled ‘Breakthrough’, launches a new beginning for this ambitious group.

My immediate thought when listening to ‘Breakthrough’ is of the absolute mayhem this song will cause at a live show. From the moment the drums kick in, you can picture a crowded room bouncing along. Slick guitar riffs, in your face vocals and thought-provoking lyrics, ‘Breakthrough’ has it all. It brings you back to that mid 2000’s period where the likes of The View, The Enemy and Maximo Park flew the flag for indie music.

This is just the beginning of what promises to be a huge year for The Zebecks. More releases, bigger gigs, it’s an exciting time.  The next show for the band is at Stereo in Glasgow on the 5th May. Stay right up to date with all things Zebecks by following their socials via the links below.
