SINGLE REVIEW | CONNOR FYFE | CARS

The Bellshill teen being the youngest person to play TRNSMT festival and sell out Glasgow’s iconic King Tuts releases his brand new single ‘Cars’. The seventeen year old has had much success this year spending the summer touring music festivals all over the UK after leaving school.

The up beat number is perfect for a summer’s day as well as it being quite catchy. It is definitely a song to please and bring the crowd together. The indie pop tune with soft vocals from Connor and foot tapping drum beats, alongside some little guitar riffs really pulls the song all together.

When speaking to Connor himself he explains how the song was written around a year ago when he was in a writing session with Ross Mcnae from Twin Atlantic and how he wanted to try something a little different. Finishing the song in 3 sessions, Fyfe spoke about the meaning behind the song;

“I don’t really like to say the meanings and inspirations behind my songs in case it clouds someones view of the song. The sort of meaning is a metaphor that if your following all those cars without really thinking of what your doing and just plodding all like the same as everyone else, without really having your own life because other people are doing it.”

Along with this amazing new tune comes a music video which Connor says will be here very soon! Definitely an up and coming musician to keep an eye on.
