Single Review | Ben Walker | Lost

Ben Walker’s new single “Lost” is a perfect example of a well-crafted piece of music that showcases the musician’s talent in only his second-ever release. The track’s lyrics, drumbeat, and guitar riffs come together seamlessly to create an unforgettable listening experience.

‘Lost’ is the heartfelt plea to a partner to stay. The lyrics showcase Ben’s incredible writing ability with skillful wordplay. The drumbeat of “Lost” is precise and controlled, providing a steady rhythm that drives the song forward. The beat never overwhelms the rest of the music, instead serving as a strong foundation for the guitar riffs to build upon. This combination between the drums and guitar creates suspense leading up to the pre-chorus build, it hooks the listener, before the euphoric burst of the chorus. An incredible release, and one I thoroughly enjoy, from an artist with endless potential.

Ben plays regularly across the country. Recently playing to a packed out King Tuts supporting fellow Scottish artist Rianne Downey, as well as a slot on b12 Entertainment’s ‘The Gathering: Episode 5’ hosted at St Luke’s. But also appearing at shows in Inverness, Thurso, Dundee, and Perth. Ben Walker played his first headliner at Slay! in Glasgow last September.

Lost is the second release from Ben Walker, his first being ‘High Tower’ which has racked up over 40,000 streams on Spotify alone. If you like artists such as Jake Bugg, Sam Fender, and Catfish and the Bottlemen then you should be adding this to your playlist!

Ben Walker’s “Lost” is an exceptional piece of music that showcases Ben’s illimitable talent and skill. The lyrics are heartfelt, the drumbeat is controlled and precise, and the guitar riffs are euphoric. “Lost” is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates great music.
