Gig Preview | Murdo Mitchell

Glasgow singer songwriter Murdo Mitchell heads out for his first UK headline tour this week.

Kicking off in Liverpool on the 13th, Murdo Mitchell will play 6 shows down south with fellow Scot Luke La Volpe as the main support. The tour ends back up north with three Scottish shows including a homecoming at Glasgow’s King Tut’s on the 22nd. Murdo will then play Church in Dundee the following evening and the final show of the tour is in Aberdeen on the 24th at Café Drummond. Support acts for Dundee are James Liandu and Grant Irvine, whilst support in Aberdeen comes from The Capollos. Support acts for Glasgow are yet to be announced.

Back in 2021 Murdo released the singles ‘Hollow’, ‘Faded’ and ‘Hide’ which would all later be included in his debut EP ‘Stay Nocturnal’. 2022 saw Murdo release four more tracks, perform at festivals in England and he also supported fellow Glaswegian Dylan John Thomas on his UK tour. Back in January King Tut’s included Murdo in their ‘Ones to Watch in 2023’ list and we at Discovery Music could not agree more.
