FEATURE | MEET THE TEAM | TRACEY FAYE MCINTYRE

What’s your role at DM?
I’m the Social Media Manager, Graphic Designer and I occasionally write reviews for the website!

How long have you been part of DM for?
3 months and counting! Time flies when you’re having fun!

Outwith DM, what do you do?
Social Media content for clients and I work for Disney! Fun fact: Mary Poppins is on my name badge!

Why did you want to join DM?
I wanted to work with an incredible team and show the world why you need to discover the best artists in Scotland. Writing about music I love is a great way for me to express my love for the industry and getting the message out there that there’s not a scene quite like the Scottish music scene.

Who’s your favourite Scottish artists?
Prides, Fatherson, Vistas, Vanives, Be Charlotte and Biffy Clyro.

Best gig you have been to?
Oh, that’s a tough question… I have been to so many gigs since I was 9! Just now I will say Jack Garratt at The Caves in Edinburgh. Not phones were allowed to be present, just you and him in a room hearing his brand new material from his new album ‘Love, Death and Dancing.’ I get chills thinking about it.

Best venue in Scotland you have been to?
Barrowland Ballroom, the atmosphere is just something else. Also, special mention to O2 ABC because it’s a venue that’s gone well before it’s time.

Favourite festival you have attended?
Barn On The Farm in Gloucester, it’s a proper family festival vibe and . Glastonbury’s the dream though, 2021 will be the year!

If you could create your own festival, who would be your 3 headliners?
Fleetwood Mac, ABBA and Prides – that’s the dream. Please let’s make it happen!

What’s your favourite genre of music and why?
Indie Pop because it makes me want to have a pint of cider and just dance with all my best pals at a festival making the best memories.

How would you describe the Scottish music scene in 3 words?
Buzzing, Vibrant and Unique!

What’s the best and worst thing about the Scottish Music scene?
The best thing is it’s a community, you discover new, exciting and upcoming artists and we have the best venues in the world (Shout out to King Tuts) and the worst thing about it is sometimes it doesn’t get the credit it deserves – especially when people say ‘UK’ band, naw pal, Scottish and proud!

Favourite drink at the pub?
Double Pink Gin and Tonic please! If we’re talking shots then Honey Tequila please! Meet you at the pub soon!
