SINGLE REVIEW| MY SHADOW| T-A

Post punk grunge group, T-A, are back with another emotionally punching track.  My Shadow speaks of grief, loss, and love as the four-piece reflect on the loss of their friend’s father.

The group is a culmination of four old school friends with a passion for making “the music we want to hear”. Influenced by a range of artists, ranging from Gwen Stefani to Orbital, T-A is a must-listen for fans of BRMC, Primal Scream, and Kasabian.

Starting as a home demo, My Shadow blossomed into a powerful new opener for the band’s live shows. Much of the original takes made it to the final cut, with some added content recorded at 456 Studios, Edinburgh.

Sharp strums of an electric guitar are complimented with thumping drums before coming together in controlled chaos in the intro. Frontman Sean Sneddon jumps into the grungy haze with emotionally charged lyrics as Sophie De Rose provides additional backing vocals to sweeten the mix.

“I tried to save you, but now you’re no one, he says you, you, you’re no son of mine,” Sneddon belts to be heard over the snarling guitar and wild drums. Alfie Ramage’s animalistic guitar solo elevates the piece to an even higher level.

My Shadow is a confusing mix of personal and explosive, yet the two feelings come together as one to channel the grief and guilt the band sing about.

T-A sing about the feeling of taking loved ones for granted in their new hit, something which can be felt in their performance. Raw, angry, and uncontrollable, My Shadow is the perfect energetic track to summarise what the band’s about.

The single will release on 27 October, following two live performances.

You can catch T-A live on 26 October as they support Spyres at PJ Molloys, Dunfermline. The group will also be performing on 27 December at The Windsor, Kirkcaldy, as part of the Christmas Extravaganza.
