Scotland’s sensational vocalist, Kim Carnie releases her celebrative new single ‘Middle of hope’
Rising from Oban, now living in Glasgow, Kim Carnie is an award winning artist as she was named Gaelic singer of the year in 2021 Scots Trad Music Awards. You may know her as being featured in Netflix’s ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Outlaw King’ soundtracks.
The Gaelic vocalist has released her latest fun and upbeat single ‘Middle of Hope’ written for her multi-award winning documentary, ‘Kim Carnie Out Loud’ which explores Carnie’s life experiences. She opened up about her secret 6 year same sex relationship and the huge impact this had on her. ‘Middle of Hope’ conveys a touching message and a feeling of hope. In this single, the popular songstress reflects on her longing for acceptance and a sense of belonging.
After being showcased at various film festivals worldwide, ‘Kim Carnie Out Loud’ has had a string of successful screenings. The Milan Independent Awards has honoured ‘Middle of Hope’ with the title of ‘Best Song in a Film’, while the Austin International Art Festival has recognized it as the ‘Best Music in a Feature Film’.
