Glasgows Hector Boys take their sound in a slightly more intense direction with their new single ‘The Method’.
‘The Method’ from Hector Boys shows off a new evolution in their sound, as the first single to come from their upcoming EP this one is a strong introduction to the new era.
Hector Boys have been catching the ears of fans since the release of their first EP in 2023. The ‘Boys’ channel bands like Vampire Weekend but have their own fresh take on the indie genre which makes their music not only enjoyable but addictive to consume.
‘The Method’ has a strong feeling of introspection, not only just in the lyrics but in the way the songs constructed, building with intensity and strong emotion. I got the sense that the band were channeling some deep personal feelings with this one and that, alongside the pretty indie instrumentals and lullaby type melody make it a great track. I really liked the permanent darker tone under the bright sounds that let me know I was waiting for something, making me want to stick around until it finally burst, and the indie riffs drove it till the end. While Hector Boys style isn’t my normal go-to to listen to I will say after checking out ‘The Method’ that I eagerly went and listened to the rest of their discography, this is a band that are worth your time.
