SINGLE REVIEW | ARCADE STATE | EVEN IN THE DARK DAYS YOU DRAW A SMILE

Arcade State are back with another brand-new tune this week. The Glasgow rockers are on the rise this year, taking the UK by storm with new releases and sell-out shows.

Having only formed in 2019 the group is on an upwards trajectory. Ciaran Murray (vocals), Jordan Murray (drums), David Daly (bass) and Scott Frank (keys / vocals) are an unstoppable force with plenty more to offer, the sentimental new single being just a taste of what’s to come.

The four-piece’s lovely new release ‘Even In The Dark Days You Draw A Smile’ follows February single ‘Splinter’ and tackles themes of loss and grief.

This alt-pop offering comes with emotionally charged lyrics. Sonically it slows things down with bright guitar riffs, gentle percussion and chilled vocals, Ciaran’s Scottish accent shining through. The track ends with some really beautiful vocal harmonies leaving you feeling optimistic, give it a listen below for a moving 3 minutes that I guarantee will put a smile on your face!

The band commented: “Even In The Dark is a song written about losing a loved one and the dark times that can bring with grieving, but when you think about all the good times you have with these people who held such a special place in your heart you can draw a smile from yourself, hence the title ‘Even In The Dark Days You Draw A Smile.’”

Arcade State are set to play a sold-out gig in Manchester this weekend followed by a special night at Glasgow’s SWG3 warehouse on April 23rd which marks their biggest show to date! Grab your tickets while you still can and follow a band who continue to shape their sound with each new release.
