Gig Preview | Alter Bridge | The Ovo Hydro, Glasgow | 06.12.2022

Rock titans Alter Bridge are set to embark on their long-awaited return to the UK for several headline arena shows including a night at The OVO Hydro, accompanied by special guests Halestorm and Mammoth. The Paws & Kings Tour will take on a large total of 25 cities across 18 countries, each and every one packed with a fan base loyal and eager to welcome the Orlando band back after a lengthy absence.

Bursting with riffs, Alter Bridge have just dropped studio album number seven, Pawns & Kings, the follow-up to the highly acclaimed, 2019-released Walk the Sky, which brought the band a number one spot on over a dozen charts around the globe. With the singles to the record being so well received, the incredible response when the album arrived came as no surprise – it is a classic album that has nice big choruses, intelligent lyrics and hard-hitting rock music meant for the big stages.

With several top ten places under their belt for this record, the band are ready to unleash the live version on the ears on Europe and beyond.

Getting the party started each night are none other than MAMMOTH WVH, visiting some countries for the first time in support of their much-lauded, self-titled debut record. Scooping a ‘Best Rock Song’ Grammy nomination in 2020 for single Distance, you best take any hits you get to be in that venue nice and early for this set.

Joining them as special guests are Grammy-winning rockers HALESTORM. The esteemed Pennsylvanian powerhouse released their blistering new album Back from The Dead only back in May – this band bring their A game every time they take to the stage and singer Lzzy Hale has one of the best vocals in music, something that easily would make your hairs stand on end – the range of her voice is enough to want to be in the room alone. Halestorm warming the crowd is a killer and perfect choice made by all involved.

To Alter Bridge – this band are always on a level above when they play live, like Lzzy, frontman Myles Kennedy’s voice is iconic, from his solo work to the Bridge, he has fast become of the of most recognisable names in rock and he and his bands live show will seriously blow your mind. They are a band who belong on stages in arenas and main stage festivals.

From heavy riffs and killer breakdowns to high pitched insane vocals of Myles, this set will be something special to witness and will show why this band is followed and loved by many.

With the show fast approaching, the excitement amongst fans is at a great high and quite rightly so – the bill is jam packed with unreal talent from the support to the headliners. Tickets are still there to be snatched up but moving fast – you do not want to miss this.
