EP REVIEW | ROS T | WE’LL MAKE WAY

Ros T is a DJ/Producer originally from the Isle of Skye and he is only becoming more and more popular within the Scottish electronic music scene. His work has gained support from some of the world’s biggest DJ’s including Joris Voorn, Duke Dumont and Detlef. He has just recently brought out his new EP titled “We’ll Make Way” under Dealt With Records and it has been making waves within the electronic scene with its euphoric sound. It is a 3 track EP which captures Ros T’s style perfectly, he is destined for big things!

The title track starts off with a deep steady beat and vocals start to creep in shortly after. After only listening to this for a few seconds, I could instantly tell that is a dancefloor filler destined for Ibiza. The track is uplifting yet somewhat very chilled and the balance between the vocals and the beat is perfect. I feel like “We’ll Make Way” has a similar vibe to some of George Fitzgerald’s tracks in the way that it is very euphoric and inspiring almost. The build up to the sudden change in tempo is very effective and the lyrics that are layered on top just add that extra touch that I feel is needed. The track develops throughout with new, faster beats being added along the way until it comes to a sudden end which mirrors the beginning of the track perfectly.

The second track “If You Want It” is a slice of electronica with an energetic feel. The beat is steady throughout and is layered at some points with lyrics and bursts influenced by classic disco rhythms. The track exudes exotic vibes and that becomes especially apparent half way through with rainforest sounds, coming in before the tune explodes into a faster more intense beat. The track also has noticeable break beat influence which is class!

The final tune “A Feeling Baby” is a feel-good house track reminiscent of Daft Punk’s Homework era. It explores an array of adventurous house beats that all sound fantastic when layered on top of each other. This track is more repetitive than the others at the start, until clear lyrics creep in half way through and the beat quietens, before erupting back to that disco, house sound from before. The track is very up beat and is a definite crowd pleaser.

We can’t wait to see what Ros T has instore for us over the next few months.
