SINGLE REVIEW | RETRO VIDEO CLUB | CLOUD NINE

Retro Video Club release a fresh new indie track.

The Edinburgh hailing indie rockers are back with their second release of the year following their March offering “Checkmate”.

The brand-new track is sonically huge and anthemic; all euphoric synths, soaring guitars and driving drums that are guaranteed to give you the energy you need to get through the weekend.

Liam Allison’s distinctive yet powerful vocal delivery is a highlight of the track as he sings with the emotional familiarity that we missed so much during the band’s time away. “Cloud Nine” builds nicely and bursts into an immense singalong chorus in classic RVC style.

The track is a post breakup anthem, lyrically reminiscing on that feeling of missing an old flame.

“Fantasize of bumping into you / to tell you that I miss you and I wish you knew / how it’s been the hardest time without you”

Alongside the single is a new lyric video shot in Edinburgh’s Broughton Tunnel which you can watch below.

Retro Video Club have established themselves as an indie rock powerhouse since starting out in 2017. As their sound evolves and gets stronger with each release it’s easy to see why their fanbase is ever growing. The quartet are set to play a string of UK headline tour dates this August, including Glasgow’s SWG3 Galvanizers stage. Click here to listen to “Cloud Nine” and check out the band’s socials below.
