SINGLE REVIEW | QUICHE | DAZED

An exciting time for the Glasgow music scene! Psychedelic pop phenomenon Quiche are back with their latest track ‘Dazed’, the final track from their EP ‘Cardboard Sunset’.

‘Dazed’

Juan Laforet, singer and guitarist with the group, describes the meaning behind the track: “Like most of Cardboard Sunset, Dazed was written when I was having a pretty rough time after an intense break-up.It’s a sort of mantra song that reminds me that everyone finds, or will find, themselves in a similar situation at some point, which was something I could lean my mind on at the time as a temporary relief. It was a way to sort of emptying all these thoughts going through my head and ridding myself of that emotional baggage.”

Quiche have really been developing their own dreamy sound over their time, writing romantic songs to fall in love to and to fall in love with. Coming from different parts of the globe, they come together in Glasgow to produce their adventurous psychedelic pop-rock.

They had quite the journey in 2019, playing a number of notable festivals such as Eden Festival, Tenement Trail and Belladrum Tartan Heart. They also performed a UK tour, supporting Catholic Action.

Opening with a catchy, upbeat guitar riff, Quiche have tailored this track to their pop-rock sound. The powerhouse vocals and mesmerizing melodies all combine together on this piece to create a potential anthem for the Summer. It is a true showcase of just what this Glasgow based band have to offer.

Quiche are ready to smash 2020, having been chosen by BBC Scotland DJ Vic Galloway as one of ’25 Scottish Artists to Watch in 2020’. They are kicking the year off with a headline show as part of King Tut’s New Year Revolution on January 18, where they will be releasing the full ‘Cardboard Sunset’ EP.

It is set to be an exciting year for the band, with many more gigs on the way. Watch this space!
