SINGLE REVIEW | CARA ROSE | URGES

Even before releasing her debut single Cara Rose managed to sell out her headline show, leaving a strong initial mark on the Scottish music scene. Now with the incredible response from her recent releases, Cara is definitely one to watch.

Cara Rose has been blessing our screens over lockdown with her creative and engaging daily outfit theme. Each morning announcing a colour or pattern for her followers to get involved and get dressed up together for their day in quarantine. Whilst her sunshine personality radiates through her social media updates, through her new musical releases we discover a different side of Cara.

Releasing her incredible debut single ‘Learn to Speak’ in February, her follow up ‘Urges’ looks at similar themes of self-care. Highlighting that we must remember to take a step back from ‘keeping up with the fast life’ and learn to take the time to care for yourself. Rose reminds us that it can be difficult to fight the urge to feel like you must always be living life at a rapid pace. That you can become blinded by the pressures that accompany this way of life.

Cara’s soulful and powerful voice accompanied by her beautiful piano ballad is the tonic we all need. The theme she highlights in the bridge is the most important in these unprecedented times; ‘You are not alone’.
