Young upcoming singer songwriter Callum Gibson is one of the many talents coming out of Scotland right now. The 22 year old hailing from Dundee released his first single Summer back in 2021 and has been delivering since. Gaslight -released on 5th May is Callum’s 5th single and marks a fresh more defined sound for the Dundee lad.
The songs gaslighting theme will resonant with most listeners. Callum takes a common theme and transcribes that into something meaningful for him. On the songs message, Callum told us,
I wanted the character to convey the feelings of someone who had been dealt a tough hand in life and gaslighted based on the experiences they faced. To be able to convey that message with an energetic melody has allowed me to capture the true feelings of the song which makes me feel amazing “

Gaslight moves away from the one man accoustic sound that Callum has already established for himself. Whilst previous work has been complimentary compared to the likes of Jake Bugg and Dylan John Thomas, this new single hits louder with Callum moving towards a more polished indie sound. Produced by Open Eye Productions Gaslight is the first of Callum’s singles to feature a full band sound. It really does raise the bar, for not only himself but for others hoping to crack the same competitive stage. A promising young solo artist who is ready to take it to the next level and make 2023 his breakthrough year.
