SINGLE REVIEW | BOTTLE ROCKETS | LIMERENCE

Bottle Rockets return with the sensational, Limerence.

Indie risers Bottle Rockets add yet another stellar track to their catalogue with their fourth release, Limerence. The release comes only a few days before Bottle Rockets take the stage at the Barrowlands as part of Tenement Trail alongside Vistas, Swim School, Voodoo’s, and many more.

Limerence is another example of what we have come to expect from the Bottle Rockets, the snappy drums, the slick guitar, and the bitterly sweet lyrics, the track is another floor-filling hit. The guitar is hypnotic, with the forementioned snappy drums driving the track. The band create a unique listening experience with the pauses between verses and the build into the big euphoric burst of the chorus. In addition to this, the track features an electronically charged bridge that adds such a high energy to the song. With the edition of the flawless vocals from frontwoman, Kenzi, the track wouldn’t be out place in an arena.

Catching up with lead guitarist John Tamburrini here’s what he had to say on the release,

“In ‘Limerence,’ we delve into timeless themes of love and desire, but with a fresh twist. This track takes an exciting detour into the electronic realm, featuring a bridge reminiscent of the Eurodance era. It’s a captivating blend of genres that showcases the band’s musical versatility. At the heart of the song is a bouncing ballad, driven by electrifying guitars and the powerhouse vocals of our frontwoman, Kenzi. Her vocals infuse the track with an irresistible intensity, making it impossible not to get lost in the music. It’s already a favourite among our fans! It’s an old song that’s been through tons of variations and it’s always been in our Setlist so it’s a bit of staple for our live performances- from a stripped back acoustic to a Eurodance banger”.

The band have recently been given one of the more elusive slots at this year’s Tenement Trail, as the opener on the Barrowland Ballroom stage, which will be headlined by Vistas. The day brings a hard earned yet thoroughly deserved spot at playing at one of the world’s most famous music venues. Bottle Rockets continue to pave their own path, staying true to nothing but their own creativity and with recognition from Spotify in the ‘We Are Glasgow‘ playlist, Bottle Rockets have truly cemented themselves as front runners in the Scottish new wave music scene.
