GIG PREVIEW | SPYRES | ROOM 2

This Sunday’s virtual gig broadcast on Glasgow’s Immersive TV platform is headlined by rising stars Spyres with support from three upcoming acts in St. Clements, Strange Dimensions & Paul Mullen.

Viewers will be able to purchase tickets to watch the event live or at their leisure with the option to become part of the virtual audience via the “Interactive” ticket. Interactive ticket buyers will be displayed on a 12 metre by 2 metre HD LED screen, giving the acts a full 180 degree view of the watching online audience.

Headline act, Spyres, began 2020 with a sold-out single launch for the second single, ‘Fake ID’ in February and went on to support Lauran Hibberd on her UK tour before joining Nothing But Thieves as the main support at the BRITS Week x War Child shows. The Glaswegian indie quartet are set for the remainder of 2021 also, with liver performances at UK festivals such as TRNSMT, Hit the North and Sonic Wave, aswell as a support slot on stage alongside The Jesus And Mary Chain at Glasgow’s infamous Barrowlands.

East Kilbride based singer songwriter, Paul Mullen, who has been described by some as a “Scottish Lee Mavers”, boasts strong Britpop influences in his two releases to date “Wrong Desires” & “Stay Close”. With several gigs pencilled post-lockdown and a third single on its way, the future looks bright for the talented 24 year old.

Inspired by bubbly song writing, St. Clements began playing covers in venues across Glasgow and the west before diving in to their own unique writing style of summery indie-pop. The band have so far released four singles, with their most recent being ‘”Great” Britain’, and have much more lined up, eagerly waiting release.

Check out St. Clements’ music video for their single, ‘Carwash Disco’!

Formed in February 2020, Strange Dimensions are a four-piece indie rock band based in Greenock who take on influences from fellow Scottish act, The Snuts, and Manchester alternative bands such as The Stone Roses. Sunday’s event will be their second live immserive performance this year, having already supported Black Dove in February in aid of charity. The band have played several solo live stream performances on social media and have uploaded a live performance/ recording of their original tune, “See You At The End”, available to watch on YouTube.

The events promoter, Gareth Gonet of B12 Entertainment, sent us a few words about the stream:

“Having been starved of live music for so long I’m delighted to be putting on this action packed bill. Through the Immersive TV platform viewers will be able to experience the closest thing to a real life gig that we can currently deliver. I believe that each of the bands I have included on the bill has the right type of energy that will carry over from the venue into your front room or wherever you decide to watch it. My advice to anyone reading this is, on May Day bank holiday Sunday crack open a you’re favourite drink, maybe even phone in some takeaway and make sure you tune in to Immersive TV to watch a great night of live music from Spyres, St Clements, Strange Dimensions & Paul Mullen. You can purchase tickets via the link in the B12 Entertainment Instagram bio or in the pinned post at the top of our Facebook page.”

The event kicks off at 7pm and finishes at 11pm, ticket buyers will receive a viewing link via email after purchase and can be found using the link below, or on B12 Entertainment’s social media sites.
