Gig Preview | Circa Waves @ Saint Luke’s

Circa Waves Glasgow

Off the back of a previous sold out UK tour, indie-rock icons Circa Waves come back to do it all again. Returning to Glasgow on February 7th, and to arguably their loudest crowd yet, they will play the beautiful and vibrant venue of Saint Luke’s. This will be a much more intimate show compared to their previous Glasgow show in the O2 Academy in July of last year.

Circa Waves aim to make this another sell out tour, with this Glasgow date being the only Scottish show, and the final date of the 10-city tour. Boating five studio albums, the group have a huge discography that adoring fans have grown to love. Adding to this in January 2023, Circa Waves released their fifth album, “Never Going Under” which produced some incredibly popular tracks including ‘Do You Wanna Talk‘ and ‘Living in the Grey‘.

This latest album adds to a long list of Circa Waves’ impressive contributions to UK indie music. Some of their songs are instantly recognisable and distinctly theirs. Tracks like ‘T-Shirt Weather‘, ‘Movies‘ and ‘Lemonade‘ are huge hits and some of the catchiest indie-pop anthems around.

If the promise of an exciting and energising setlist isn’t enough to entice you, the band have also teamed up with food banks across the UK. A portion of the profits from each show will go to local food banks in that city, an incentive that many have jumped to support, and one I’ve never seen before. Some shows on the tour also had the option to directly donate at the venue. It just goes to show not only how talented the band are within their music, but also how humble and personable they are by giving back to local communities.

With a fusion of indie-pop anthems and mosh pits promising to create the most addicting live atmosphere, this is a show you’ll regret not coming to, and one you won’t want to leave.
