Talented pop artist Natasha Oldcorn from Edinburgh just released her new single ’Too Much’ on the 20th of February.
In the middle of recording her next EP, Natasha has shared this upbeat pop single to get warmed up for the big release soon to come. ’Too Much’ is about “daring to dream and not being afraid of wanting more.” This message is clear through Natsha’s lyrics. “Come on I dare you say that what I want is too much.” challenges the idea that a dream is too big and too much to ask for, which Natasha dosen’t believe as she sings lyrics such as,“But it’s not my fault I was raised to believe to not be unhappy.” and “I wanna be seen, I wanna be everywhere you are”. These lyrics encourage people to reach for the stars and do what makes them happy. “The world wants to take all the fun things away.” conveys the coldness in today’s society, not enocuraging big dreams nor valuing creatives.

This track begins quietly with a sustained, atmospheric synth and vocal sample with delay. The melody then moves onto a prominent piano riff alongside deep piano chords, a lightly played drum kit, an inverted pedal on the synthesiser, and heartfelt lyrics about losing your spark as a teen.
This is followed by a shift in mood as this verse flows into a vibrant chorus, with additional instrumentation such as striking strings, a phaser on the synthesizer, subtle bass, backing vocal harmonies, and punchier drums. The lyrics change into an encouraging, powerful message about following your dreams.

The track closes with a small electric guitar riff blending into piano chords, a piano riff, a vocal sample pitch shifted with reverb and delay, then ending fully with a dreamy synth which gradually fades out.
‘Too Much’ tells you a story but most imporantly takes you on this emotional journey too, with the final destination of following your dreams.
