The bands follow up single “Choir Song” earned the band their second “Track of the Week” as well as a spot on the BBC Introducing Live Lineup. It was picked up by NME and added to their “New Bangers” playlist, while The Sunday Times labelled them as one of their Breaking Acts. The band have also become renowned for their live shows having shared stages with Swim School and Genn, featuring on festival lineups and King Tut’s New Year’s Revolution and also have a string of sell out headlines under their belt and made their London live debut in partnership with Sofar Sounds.
Commenting on the track the band say “Muscle Memory explores the aftermath of an unhealthy relationship, and how our bodies hold on to the traumas we’ve been through in an unshakeable way. When it comes to heartbreak, there’s the old saying that time is a healer and sure, we forget the details eventually, but if an experience has hurt us enough, our nervous system remembers that, to protect us from the threat of repetition. So, that’s what the track explores; the devastation of realising that your whole being now recognises someone as harmful, a danger, when they were once your safety, and that some experiences leave too much of a lasting impact to be truly laid to rest”
Muscle Memory has the most angelic vocals from lead singer Anny Tahaney with punchy guitar and roaring bass with also sincere piano melodies. The track shows the bands talent in songwriting and storytelling for definite, and also takes the listener on a deep heart-felt journey of the devastation of an unhealthy relationship and the pain of the aftermath.
