California American alternative rock band The Neighbourhood made their mark in Glasgow at their most recent show at the OVO Hydro, performing their smash hits including “Sweater Weather” and “Daddy Issues“.
NESSA BARRETT
American singer-songwriter Nessa Barrett warmed up the Glasgow crowd by playing a selection of her most popular hits, including TikTok viral song “P*RNSTAR” which she closed her set with.
Nessa throughout her set had a mysterious, sensual energy which made for a great opener for The Neighbourhood as this band has that same vibe surrounding them. This can be seen on Nessa and the lead singer of The Neighbourhood ‘Jesse Rutherford’s collaboration “Buffalo 66“.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
On the 2nd of September 2026, The Neighbourhood brought their first ever arena tour to the city of Glasgow as part of their WOURLD TOUR which started just after 9pm. Their set was split up into three separate acts, showcasing their old and new music for fans in the sold out arena.
This was The Neighbourhood’s first performance in Glasgow since October of 2014 when they played at the Glasgow School of Art. The band success has been on a massive incline since releasing their lead single “Sweater Weather” as part of their I Love You album in 2013. This success was heightened throughout other social media viral songs such as “Softcore” and “Reflections“.
Act one started with the bands robotic automated storyteller Iris whose role is to act as a futuristic guide that sets an atmospheric tone before the band starts their set for each night of their tour. The “Iris Intro” transitions directly into the first song of the bands set “Hula Girl” from their new album [((((((Ultrasound))))))]. An energetic performance of “Devils Advocate” brought act one to a close.
Act two was introduced again by Iris, commenting on how act two was “the ballad section of the show”. Text on screen stated that “yearning was encouraged” from the crowd, allowing the crowd to feel all their feelings during act two. This section of the set stared with the song “Baby Came Home 2“, a personal favourite from the band and fan favourite “Daddy Issues“. However act two was brought to an end with the bands song “Private“. During this song, frontman Jesse Rutherford asked the crowd to interact and sing along with the melody to truly bring the song to life.
The final act of the night, act three flawlessly closed the show with the bands mega hits “Sweater Weather” and “Softcore“. The atmosphere in the crowd during these two songs was mainly nostalgic and sadness as the night was coming to an end.
The Neighbourhood’s WOURLD TOUR is set to come to an end on the 4th of December 2026 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California.
