Young up-and-coming band Insert Caption hit Glasgow’s Nice N’ Sleazy for a fantastic debut headline gig on 26th July.
The rising five-piece, based near Glasgow, is made up of Shea as lead vocalist, Kian as lead guitarist, Eilidh on rhythm guitar, Lucas on bass and Aleks on drums.
Insert Caption is like the love child of Wunderhorse and Amyl & The Sniffers, with bursting stage presence, high energy, and live instrumentation. Taking influence from alt-rock, grunge, and post punk genres, this rising quintet are definitely one to watch for 2026.

Although Insert Caption have only been formed together as a band for a short time, they already have one single under their belt, called ‘Oh, Callisto’ released on 29th June – with over 5K streams on Spotify.
Their set at Nice N’ Sleazy was supported by local bands Rapture, Nameless, and How Means Why for Sundown Presents: The Battle. The venue had a constant flow of attendees throughout the night, and was buzzing with people by the time Insert Caption hit the stage at around 9 pm.
From the start of their set, Insert Caption had radiating confidence and a tangible energy that could clearly be felt from the crowd. With frequent engagement with the front row, and chatting in-between tracks, Insert Caption didn’t fail to keep the crowd engaged from start to finish.
The setlist included an unreleased original track, still in progress of writing, however, consisted of powerful drums and melodies that left you wishing you could hear it again. The set also had several covers including a stunning rendition of Creep by Radiohead.
Closing the set was their debut single ‘Oh, Callisto’ which was unreal to hear live with the full band instrumentation and live energy.
Insert Caption are set to play their sophomore live gig at The Classic Grand on 6th September for Sundown Presents: The Battle with Triple A’s, Solar Skies, and Condors. Make sure to get yourselves there!
