Niamh Morris headlined King Tuts’ on Friday 18th July with an unforgettable set for the iconic Glasgow venue. This was the 2nd night of the annual King Tut’s Summer Nights session, with a 4-act lineup with Emily Evans, Hana Jane, Ryan Brown.
Emily Evans
First up on tonight’s roster was up-and-coming singer songwriter Emily Evans at 7.45pm. Emily was a fabulous artist to warm up the crowd, frequently chatting and explaining the backstories and inspirations behind her tracks.
The setlist was a mix of catchy pop ballads, some fictional, some sadder, and some based on real-life experiences. Original song ‘Overdrive,’ released only in March this year, had catchy lyrics and places you in a setting of late-night car rides and sunsets. Evans, although an independent artist, showcased her talent and growth from bedroom-to-stage, often switching between acoustic vocals and keys. She then followed this with a cover of one of her favourite bands, ‘Little Things’ by One Direction.
Emily Evans isn’t just a pop vocalist’ she’s a songwriter with great emerging talent definitely worth looking out for.

Hana Jane
Next up was Hana Jane, who showed up with radiating smiley confidence and a stunning selection of original soft-pop tracks.
The Glasgow-based singer offered a jam-packed set with some of her best Spotify singles such as ‘Me & You’ and her latest ballad ‘Free.’ Self-written unreleased track ‘Empty Chair’ illustrated a more emotional side to Hana’s songwriting, with authentically raw lyrics and meaning.
A further highlight to the set was her 2023 single ‘About These Boys’ which is also her most-streamed track on Spotify. This catchy, relatable pop track explores just what the song title suggests – the typical mixed signals and behaviours expected from boys in early talking stages and relationships.

Ryan Brown
The third act of the night was Ryan Brown, opening his set with one of his older singles ‘Stay The Night.’ Ryan showed up with a full band for his set, with cracking drums, bass and guitar whilst Ryan switched between acoustic vocals and playing keys.
His latest release ‘Breathe‘ was worth noting, with vulnerable lyrics and the crowd holding up their phone flashlights. Ryan’s vocals give hints of Kerr Mercer and Lewis Capaldi – and his cover of Capaldi’s latest single ‘Survive’ showcased the extent of his love and inspiration for the Glasgow singer-songwriter, and expressed to the crowd that Capaldi is one of his biggest role models in music.
Brown finished his set with an original unreleased track never before played live – ‘Heaven,’ marking the King Tut’s Friday night as a special one for the band as well as the crowd.

Niamh Morris
By 10 pm it was time for our headliner of the night to hit the stage. Niamh Morris graced King Tut’s with a beautiful set, with her best tracks from her newest EP ‘Strawberries & Honey‘ released earlier this year.
The opener of Niamh Morris’ set was also the opening track of her debut EP Strawberries & Honey, called ‘Dancin’ In Glasgow‘ played on keys. Morris showcased beautifully soft yet captivating vocals, and switched between acoustic guitar and keys for her solo act. She recently celebrated 25k streams on her latest single ‘Spin-off Show,’ which, played live, featured delicate lyrics and connection with the crowd.

If you’re based in the Isle of Bute, you’ll be lucky enough to catch Niamh’s upcoming set at the Isle of Bute Festival this weekend – her highly anticipated festival debut. ‘Weirdo Like Me’ was another highlight of the set, with relatable storytelling about the hardships in finding the right people to connect with.
The night continued after Niamh’s set, with meeting fans at the merch stand and dj sets downstairs. Make sure to stream Strawberries & Honey below:
