“Easy Feeling is a song about escape through intimacy. It captures the rush of good chemistry forming with another person; the kind of chemistry strong enough to insulate you from past regrets, existential fears and the complex demands of the modern world. An easy, dreamy, sexy feeling.”
– Joshua Mackenzie

‘Easy Feeling’ is the first single from The Joshua Hotel’s upcoming debut album ‘Rapture Party’ I found this track to be particularly relaxing as it mimics the intoxicating experience of a relationship and the feelings of peace and euphoria that comes with it. Musically, the song lives up to its name with smoothly flowing melodies and harmonies making it an incredibly easy listen and the instrumentation creates a rich soundscape which takes the listener on a journey through the songwriter’s emotions.
I found the relaxed approach that the band has taken on this track to further intensify the dreamy feeling the band aimed to create. Rather than opting for dramatic, in your face choruses, the song flows naturally which allowed me to fully appreciate every aspect of the music. I felt that this approach worked to the songs advantage as it sounds almost effortless, once again mirroring the romantic intention behind the song.

‘Easy Feeling’ perfectly sets the tone for The Joshua Hotel’s debut album ‘Rapture Party’ and gives a great insight into what fans can expect. Listeners will be eager to hear more after its release on the 21st of March. This track serves as an introduction to The Joshua Hotel’s musical vision and I cannot wait to hear more from the band.
