Glasgow Indie rock band, The Sensitive Souls released their brand new single “Nostalgia” back in June.
Upon listening to it for the first time, I’m drawn immediately to the sort of jangly guitar, like you’d hear on a track by The Smiths – such a nice tone. The lead guitar melody throughout, really adds to that nostalgia feel that you would hear in an 80s movie.
The drums accompany this song perfectly, not overpowering at all and a great pace. The last section of vocals included some sweet harmonies on the chorus that brings the song together.
My favourite part is the last segment, which I’m not actually sure what I am listening to. It’s a beautiful tone of what could be a flute, maybe a synth or perhaps fancy guitar tricks, but whatever it is, it’s very cool and rounds of this tune so nicely.
The song is what it says on the tin, feeling those nostalgic feels, reflecting back on what once was and knowing that time is not moving at a slow pace.
“I know I won’t be here forever, so let’s make the most of every day”.
The tone of the guitars mixed with a bit of reverb really contributes well to the nostalgic theme.
Overall this is a great track! It’s recorded really well, all the instruments blend so smoothly together and it’s a song that makes you think.
Looking forward to seeing what The Sensitive Souls do next.
