SINGLE REVIEW | PRIMES | TALK TOO MUCH

“Primes’ are definitely saying something new with punchy new single, Talk Too Much”

Jack Boa – Discovery Music

Based in Falkirk, Pop infused rock band “Primes” have certainly injected some of their home towns central belt attitude into this new single.

“Talk Too Much” will be released on March 4th and will also appear in the band’s new upcoming EP “Colour” which will hit your ears later this year.

The eye-catching quartet’s latest single starts off with head rocking drums by Reece Ryan.

Ryan’s simple yet hypnotic drum beat gives a fantastic “Pixies” type flow that creates a solid base for the rest of the band to excel from.

Joining in 2022 new member Ray McArthur throws down a soul punching and ever present Bass Line that gives you something to groove to. McArthur does a surreal job at intertwining with the band in this track.

Powerhouse duo Ollie Kitchen and Sarah Monteith-Skelton now have flexibility and an opportunity to share vocal and guitar duties.

With snappy and straight to the point lead guitar and complementary rhythm guitar which along with the pairs male and female vocal parts, really helps round off the song.

Throughout the song you can’t help but hear a loudness behind the band akin to the “Pixies” and the “Vaccines”.

“Talk Too Much” is a gritty and realistic tale which takes you on a strangely euphoric music experience. Based on a conversation between a couple in a relationship. The song delves into trains of thought one could have when various strains and issues arise in said relationship.

All in all this single really sets the scene and stage for Primes in 2022 with appearances planned for ; Party at the Palace (Saturday 13th of August) and Nice N Sleazys (9th of July).

Already appearing on BBC Introducing earlier this year they surely are starting off this year with a blast.

“Primes” have really knocked it out the park with this pop infused, rock lathered new single.

This song has definitely made me “Talk Too Much”
