SINGLE REVIEW | MOUSE | DEAD 2 ME. (GHOST)

It’s Friday the 13th and what better way to celebrate a day of superstition than with a new punky release from Mouse.

Mouse is an up-and-coming Scottish artist based in Edinburgh. The 20-year-old unleashed his first single ‘School Will Kill The Artist.’ A year ago today and since then the young musician has racked up thousands of Spotify streams and 20k followers on TikTok with his music that blends pop-punk influences delivered with a Scottish accent. Think somewhere between Biffy, The LaFontaines and Twin Atlantic but, like, if they sang Greenday tunes.

Self-produced, Mouse has complete creative control over his music. ‘Dead 2 Me. (Ghost)’ starts out with some light drums before the introduction of a catchy guitar riff and after a few seconds Mouse’s vocals kick in. His delivery is emphatic, and his lyrics are packed with punk sentiments and angst. Insert an infectious chorus and plenty of attitude and you have yourself a punk banger.

The lyrics are reflective and delve into themes of self-sabotage, of leaving behind the parts of yourself that are holding you back. There are big things on the horizon this year for Mouse, don’t forget to follow him on all the socials below to keep up to date with new releases and stream ‘Dead 2 Me. (Ghost)’ below!
