SINGLE REVIEW | LOST IN VANCOUVER | VOICEMAIL

Scottish indie four-piece, Lost In Vancouver have just released their second single of the year, Voicemail. The single follows on from their January release Out The Blue.

Voicemail begins with an extremely catchy, upbeat guitar riff which really captivates the listener before the lyrics even start. I feel it has a similar energy to some of The Strokes earlier releases. The chorus of the song, “Cause I just want her” is short and sweet, making it very memorable and really gets you wanting to sing along. From the very beginning, the melody of Voicemail has you tapping your foot, with the distinctive tone of the lead guitar giving the song an optimistic feel about it.

You get a sense of yearning from the lyrics which I feel creates a great contrast in comparison to the cheerful rhythm throughout the single. Overall, the song is an enjoyable and fun listen and I believe to be an amazing addition to the Scottish indie rockers growing discography.
