Late Night Getaway Drivers leave us all wanting to know more after their newest single.

This 5-piece alternative/post-punk band is set to release their second single on August 7th. The band founded by Conor Jackson (Vocals) and Aaron Gillespie (Guitar) in 2022 also hosts Chloe Gillespie (Guitar), Will Nesbitt (Bass) and Ross
Mackenzie (Drums), who joined in 2024. This Ayr-based band have been gigging since 2025, playing Glasgow institutions such as King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Classic Grand and Nice N Sleezeys.

Late Night Getaway Drivers’ new single is set to be a summer anthem. This song is bound to make its way to festival stages, being the band’s first dive into shoegaze music, taking inspiration from bands such as Fontaines DC, Slowdrive and Ride. This song reminded me of Summertime by My Chemical Romance, fun and free-loving, lots of chorus-y backing vocals and great guitar. This song includes catchy repeated vocals, layers of guitar, and fun drum fills, all of which are kept in check by the
steady groove of the bass.
Post punk rockers Late Night Getaway Drivers aren’t only treating us to one single on the 7th, but we are also getting a B-side called ‘Love Message’. This second single is the inversion of ‘Want to Know’, where heartfelt messaging and classic love song melodies merge. The song was written shortly before recording and was understandably included in the recording session.

Make sure to keep up with Late Night Getaway Drivers on their socials, stream their new single out 7th August and catch them at their next gig at Prestfest on the 31st July!
