SINGLE REVIEW | KNACKERED | TWO TOKES AHEAD

Fresh new alternative rock band from Perth release their fifth single, Two Tokes Ahead. KNACKERED was established in 2022 after lead singer, Logan, began his own solo project which soon developed into a band.

The group knew each other through drinking sessions spent together. From nights spent at the pub, KNACKERED now play sold out shows across Falkirk and Glasgow.

Elliot, Logan, Tom, and Finn

Their self-titled EP is set to release at some point this year. With energetic and exhilarating tracks such as Spirals to more groove-based songs such as When We Were Younger, KNACKERED bring tracks for every occasion.

Each of the four members have brought their own signature sounds to the table, taking a mixture of influences and injecting them into their alternative rock and indie tracks. The group have been inspired by the likes of The View and Jamie T, hints of which can be heard throughout their songs.

Opening with a soft, echoing chord, you must brace yourself for the wave of energy that will soon wash over you in Two Tokes Ahead.

Amidst the angsty alternative-rock beats there is almost a warning in the lyrics. Logan belts out pure emotion with lines such as “I don’t think I’m getting better”, and “This feeling it won’t go away”.

Backed up with Elliot’s vocals and bass, Tom on guitar and Finn smashing up the drums, the power of emotion in this piece is overwhelming. If you are ever struggling to feel something, guaranteed this track will rip the feelings from you and alight you with a new kind of passion.

Everyone is putting their all into each part they play in KNACKERED and it makes the world of difference when performing music. The room will be buzzing with pure energy when Two Tokes Ahead is played live. It is the kind of song you can say “screw it” to and jump and dance like nobody’s watching.

Two Tokes Ahead is a true outlet for those who need it and is an insane accomplishment for this recently formed band.

Available to stream now on Spotify, you can find their latest single and more here.
