Single Review | Jamie Sutherland | Some Things Hurt A Little More

Edinburgh’s own Jamie Sutherland has released a new single Some Things Hurt A Little More and we can’t get enough of it.

Jamie Sutherland is a singer/songwriter from Edinburgh. Jamie is best known as the frontman of Broken Records band but also releases solo music and has announced his second solo album “The World As It Used To Be” due for release on September 6th . His debut album “Bruise” was released on August 6th 2021.

“Some Things Hurt A Little More” captures a sense of a mature understanding of life’s complications. Jamie delicately strums the guitar chords as he sings the beautiful lyrics that captures the bittersweet acceptance of an old love that’s slipped away and also channels an older, more thoughtful perspective of giving up on love and loss and how the time that passes effects this. Jamie has said himself this track is “a love song from an older point of view, less drama and more realisation that another one had slipped away. The loneliness of an empty house and the need to escape the quietness”. Jamie’s songwriting has an introspective folk vibe to it and early influences like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen definitely shine through. We can’t wait to hear the rest of “The World As It Used To Be” has to offer.
