SINGLE REVIEW | GO TO GIRL | RUSH

Never fear, indie pop is here! Go To Girl have released their much anticipated single ‘Rush’ for our listening pleasure.

Go To Girl are a four piece indie pop band based in Edinburgh. Having formed back in 2018, their new and fresh sound is slowly but surely making its appearance onto the Scottish music scene.

The band have spent the majority of their year writing, recording and refining a sound that works for them. They are what the music scene has been needing and craving for sometime; their 80s influenced sound combined with modern funk and rock influences such as Haim, Paramore and Fickle Friends.

Their first ever single ‘Shake’  was released back in August 2019 and features an energy like no other, immediately engaging us as listeners and intriguing us to this new, upbeat band. If you are wanting a dance and to feel transported back to Summer festival season, then this is a song for you.

Their newly released single ‘Rush’ was released November 15 and immediately opens with a synth based catchy rhythm – the very best indie pop opener. This opener then leads into almost grungy sounding vocals with a pop backdrop, something a little different to listen to. The song has an equal balance of upbeat combined with melancholic, making it an overall fun and exciting piece of music.

The band have a number of upcoming gigs for you to get yourself along to, including:

Supporting The Man of the Minch at The Hug & Pint in Glasgow on December 1, a free show at Bloc+ Glasgow on December 16 and their first headline show at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh on December 19.
