Glasgow-based Cara Rose releases enchanting final single “Would If I Could” before the release of her EP next month.

Encapsulating the feeling of rain against the window on an autumn night, ‘Would if I Could” explores the desire for reassurance in the world and knowing that “you’ll be right there” when she needs you. As she sings with such maturity, it is difficult to believe that Rose is in fact only twenty-three.

Cara’s melodies perfectly encapsulate a blend of soul and soft-pop in a way that is so flawless, her warm yet rough voice having notes that could be compared to the likes of Winehouse and new star Celeste.

Following a successful King Tuts Summer Nights gig and supporting Scots rockers The Snuts on their final night playing the sold out Barrowlands, Cara Roses’ career is on a steady incline which doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. She has definitely made her mark on the Scottish music scene over the past year.

Much like all of Caras’ discography, “Would If I Could” is written in an inviting way that appears to be powerful yet vulnerable, she is inviting us into her life. Perhaps the forthcoming EP will show us more.
