GIG REVIEW | DYLAN JOHN THOMAS | @ LIQUID ROOM

Dylan John Thomas came to Edinburgh to tease his new debut album which is set to come out in February. His album was due on the 26th of January but the date has now been pushed back to the 2nd of February. Dylan is currently playing 5 intimate Album launch shows in Scotland and England.

Dylan played in the Liquid Room (Edinburgh) on the 27th of January and put on a brilliant gig with a setlist containing 13 songs which are most off his new album the only song we did not get to hear live was ‘Champs-Elysees’ which has not been heard at all.

The new album contains songs the fans have already heard and loved for years such as ‘Jenna’ and ‘When I Get Home’ and some of his latest singles ‘Rich Boy’ and ‘What I Need’ as well as only 3 songs on that album we have not heard yet.

Dylan then spoke to the crowd to explain about the recording of one of the fan favourites ‘Wake up Ma’ and how he recorded the heart touching song during lock down and how he wasn’t too happy with the recording he then announced to the crowd that there would be ‘Wake up Ma’ – live from the Barrowlands on his debut album.

Overall the set was amazing and in mine and many other fans opinions it was not long enough, from start to finish the crowd was bouncing all night with a differing variety of ages. Dylan will also be playing Scotland’s one and only TRNSMT on the 13th of July on the main stage!
