HOPE, FAITH & CARNAGE, Tonto’s debut album, explores the unvarnished, muddy truths of addiction and rehabilitation.
From Alloa, Scotland, comes the four-piece band Tonto. Tonto captures the essence of the working class with their gritty, anthemic songs that are honest and emotional.
The Snuts, Gerry Cinnamon, The View, and CAST have all performed on stage with frontman Kieran Fisher. In an attempt to create a more expansive and dynamic sound, he formed TONTO with bassist Lewis McGrandles, drummer Jay Strachan, and guitarist Lyle Finlay.
Ewan Simpson produced and recorded the 10-track album in Edinburgh’s Studio B. The end effect is a natural live sound that retains its gloss without sacrificing authenticity. A few of the album’s songs, including Liverpool, Charlene, and the most recent one, Alone, have already been released by the band. Tonto captures the essence of the working class with their honest lyrics and gritty, anthemic songs.

“Hope, Faith & Carnage” delves into the gritty, unvarnished truths of addiction and rehabilitation, according to the press release. Songs about beginning again, taking care of oneself, establishing boundaries, and determining what comes next are found in songs like Beltbuckle and On Top.
To keep things new, the album alternates pos rock pieces with understated acoustic gems, including a Laura Begley guest vocal.
Hope, Faith and Carnage, is due to be released on 28th February.
