On the 9th of September Biffy Clyro took the stage of the iconic venue Glasgow Green. With amazing support from Porridge Radio, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes and Yungblud, fans were eager to see the show especially since the date had been moved back.
The day kicked off at 4pm with tunes from Porridge radio. Each of the support bands played exceptionally and set the night up for some great music.
At 9pm Biffy Clyro took the stage opening with their iconic single “That Golden Rule.” The songs high energy instantly captivated fans. The groups stage presence was incredible and you could really tell they put their hearts into their music.
The trio continued with a wide variety of songs including radio hits such as “Biblical” and lesser known tunes from their earlier album’s including “57” and “No Such Thing as a Jaggy Snake”. This range of songs included on the setlist meant there was something for everyone. New fans and old were all given a track they’d love.
The group closed with an explosive performance of their hit song “Bubbles.” The upbeat energy of the song and intense building throughout was amazing live and something any music lover should see. Finally, other members of the band left the stage leaving only lead singer Simon Neil and two on stage violinists. The gig ended with an emotional performance of the song “Machines”. After a difficult 16 months, the heartfelt track filled the venue with an emotional atmosphere as fans belted out the songs lyrics. The violins added a beautiful depth to the song and was an incredible ending to an amazing night. Once the song ended Neil took the stage and thanked fans for all the support and for “an incredible and emotional evening.” The buzz in the venue as fans left was unforgettable.
Overall, Biffy Clyro have always been an iconic band and their live shows will always be worth seeing. This gig was truly one of a kind with a variety of songs and exciting atmosphere. Fans are eager to see what’s next from Biffy as well as the return of live music.
