SINGLE REVIEW | PARTY OF PARANOIA | KAYLEE BLANEY

Kaylee Blaney invites us into her mind with her debut single Party of Paranoia, the artist gives voice to their paranoia, translating internal turmoil into sound.

The track begins with a melancholy piano, before being joined by atmospheric guitar luring us into the flinching start of the first verse. Blaney’s vocals are deep and soulful throughout, helping set the dark and moody tones of the track. Her voice is rich and flexible, showcasing her extensive vocal range.

With a steady beat throughout, the track goes through many phases in its 4-minute duration, some parts edgier and heavier with spells of more expressive, dreamy and choral arrangements- as though it mirrors the unpredictable state of mind that is paranoia.

The song builds to a breakdown for the last chorus with extravagant cymbal work, adding an extra channel to the many modes of this song. It is a bold and fluid track with introspective lyrics about how the mind can play its tricks and disguise illusion as reality.

Kaylee Blaney certainly has something to bring to the table with this brooding track, its intensity tells me she has plenty of passion, and we won’t be hearing the last of her anytime soon.
