SINGLE REVIEW |THE PARTY SLOGAN | EVERYTHING AND NOTHING

Edinburgh band The Party Slogan address the subject of overthinking and put their best foot forward on their bombastic new track ‘Everything and Nothing’

Edinburgh band address the subject of overthinking and put their best foot forward on their bombastic new track ‘Everything and Nothing’. With this track, the band have refined their craft further and only appear to be getting better on a track that appears to wear its effectively utilised post-punk influences on its sleeve.

The track starts off with a dreamy and smooth riff that effortlessly glides over the drum beat which accompanies it. Soon after, it turns into an empathic mesh of epic instrumental proportions. The vocals are unique and go from incredibly bold, to manic and unhinged at the drop of a hat and this level of vocal skill makes for an incredibly catchy and memorable hook. The conclusion of this track is a cathartic release of the pent up emotion and energy that has been built up over the course of the minutes prior and this release, as a whole, is a work in airing out grievances. Overall, the track is a masterful effort from the young band and is only the start of displaying their talents to the world.

With publications likening their work to the likes of The Cure or New Order, it is clear that there are big things on the horizon for the young Edinburgh band as their touring schedule has taken them all over the country and once this crisis is squared away, it is evident that their gig calendar will be stacked yet again.
