Salt River Shakedown (SRS) are back just in time for the holidays with their latest single ‘Out In all Weather releasing 20 December.
‘Out In all Weather’ is a punchy alternative rock funk fusion that keeps you hooked with grand breakdowns and catchy lyrics. Being the lads last single of the year, the song caps off a year or practice and growth for the band.
SRS take proud inspiration from bands like Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Vulfpeck, the RHCP comparisons are especially obvious when it comes to ‘Out In all Weather’s’ driving drums and electric bass work.
SRS describes ‘Out In all Weather’ as being about “Looking back on all your life choices, and how the path you’ve chosen led you to where you are today. It’s been a staple of our live shows for years now and has always had a great reaction from the crowd. It’s a big emotional, energetic rock song that’s always been a perfect set closer.
The tune kicks off with a soft guitar riff that slowly builds up, bringing in more of the band. The drums and bass kick in properly in the bridge along with a softly picked funky electric guitar line. Guitarist Dan’s talents are on full display in ‘Out In All Weather’, he is given a true time to shine near the end of the song during an extended guitar solo. The sound generated from the five piece is all at once familiar and completely new. Their influences run deep but what they do with it is what makes them special. They’re funky, they’re electric and they’re a band to keep your eye on, this holiday season, give Salt River Shakedown a try.
